T-Strap Shoes Are Bringing a Little Romance Back to Fall
2 min readT-straps are the retro shoe trend bound to be everywhere this fall and winter. On the fall 2026 runways, they dominated, and we expect street style to follow suit in the coming months—both in flat and heeled versions.
Rosettes adorned stilettos at Dior; other houses took the embellished route, too, including Givenchy, which went for limoncello yellow, and Fendi, featuring studs and feathers. Rabanne’s iteration was printed, while Calvin Klein took a minimalist approach in gray.
Just last week, Sandra Bullock wore a pair of T-strap heels to the Practical Magic 2 premiere in London. Hers were of the sandal variety, as opposed to the traditional closed-toe types.
On the market, we’re seeing shoppable options from Khaite, The Row, Ferragamo, Jil Sander, Tory Burch, and more, plus more affordable labels like Reformation already jumping on the bandwagon. (More budget-friendly brands are sure to follow.) Stick with a fashion-forward take and opt for satin or indulge in seasonal color trends with a rich olive hue. Or take a walk on the wild side with Stuart Weitzman’s leopard-print option.
The trend can be linked to the dance and jazz shoe trend, harkening back to the Roaring ’20s when the added vertical strap offered extra security to dancers. And in case you wanted some additional fall footwear trends, you won’t go wrong with serotonin shoes and croc-embossed everything.
