The Luxe Body Care Brand Making Me Smell Expensive From Head to Toe

Estimated read time3 min read

As a beauty writer, I know the thrill (and occasional letdown) of trying new scented body care all too well. I’ve tested washes that left my skin feeling parched, scents that faded far too quickly, and lotions that missed the mark on texture or hydration.

Earlier this year, Salt & Stone finally made it onto my testing list after I kept seeing rave reviews across my social feeds. After proving that scented body products can, in fact, check all my boxes, I’m reporting back to share my latest obsessions.

Shop the Best Salt & Stone Body Care

My first introduction to Salt & Stone was its body wash. The moment I realized I still smelled amazing hours after showering—sans perfume—and my fiancé noticed, too, I was sold. Before long, a mini Salt & Stone collection had accumulated in my shower niche. Fast-forward to today, and I’ve now worked my way through the brand’s deodorants, hand creams, body lotions, and body mists in a variety of scents.

My current favorite is Black Rose & Oud, a sophisticated, alluring fragrance with notes of vetiver, amber, and woody cedar. It smells warm, sensual, and truly intoxicating. The brand also offers five other fragrances: Santal & Vetiver, Bergamot & Hinoki, Saffron & Cedar, Neroli & Basil, and Lily & Yuzu, plus its latest limited-edition launch—the return of the Cherry Collection in collaboration with Cherry LA, featuring the incredible Leather & Desert Grass scent. Each has its own dreamy scent profile and impressive staying power.

At this point, I’ve perfected my favorite Salt & Stone body care combinations, and I can’t remember the last time I so gleefully anticipated my next shower—including the usually mundane post-shower lotion step. Below, find a breakdown of the formulas I love most, so you can build a signature routine of your own and smell incredible with virtually no effort.

Body Washes

There’s something especially indulgent about lathering up with a fragrance that instantly makes your shower feel like a hotel spa, and my Salt & Stone lineup gives me that little luxury every time. The silky gel lathers beautifully without leaving my skin feeling tight or stripped.

The formulas are also skin care-forward, with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and seaweed extracts to support hydration, prebiotics to help maintain the skin’s microbiome, and vitamin C to help brighten.

Deodorants

Perhaps you’ve also seen the hype around Salt & Stone’s deodorants. And if you haven’t tried them yet, I can attest: They’ll keep you smelling amazing all day long. The aluminum-free formulas use ingredients like baking soda and magnesium hydroxide to help neutralize odor, while a gentler, baking soda-free option is also available for sensitive skin.

Body Lotions

To help my fragrance last longer, I apply a coordinating lotion post-shower while my skin is still slightly damp. I’m currently using Black Rose & Oud, which absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling silky-smooth and looking noticeably more radiant. The formula contains seaweed extracts and plant-derived oils for hydration, niacinamide to help smooth the skin and support its barrier, and vitamin E for antioxidant benefits.

Body Mists

Lastly, if I’m forgoing a bold perfume that day and need a subtler scent that doesn’t feel too harsh on the nose but is still plenty noticeable, I finish with a mist. And given the brand’s dedication to skin-promoting ingredients, I wasn’t shocked to see that even the body mists are infused with skin care, including red algae for hydrating and smoothing, and glycerin to boost hydration.
