Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, and Becky G’s ‘Te Olvido (La La)’ Lyrics Are About Ending a Situationship

Over a year after releasing I Said I Love You First, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have teamed up again—this time with Becky G—for Blanco’s upcoming Spanish album Hermoso. The trio released “Te Olvido (La La)” (in English: “I’m Forgetting You (La La)”) last night. In the Spanish lyrics, a woman asks her partner to define their relationship once and for all—or risk being left for good.

Becky G and Gomez ask the man in the chorus, “Amor mío, ¿qué tienes conmigo? / Que no me quieres con nadie, pero tampoco contigo / Dime si somo’ o no somo’ de una vez, te lo pido / Y así yo decido si te quiero o te olvido.” (“My love, what is your deal with me? / You don’t want me with anyone else, but you don’t want me with you either / Tell me once and for all if we’re a thing or not, I’m asking you / That way I can decide whether to love you or forget you.”)

Becky G, meanwhile, spoke on an April episode of Call Her Daddy about calling off her engagement to soccer player Sebastian Lletget amid cheating rumors in 2023. She said they are back together now, though it took work to rebuild their relationship.

She’d still “love to” marry him someday. “Like, re-propose to me,” she said, via People. The hardship changed her, she added: “Post-traumatic growth is a choice. I do think that there is a shift in mentality that happened for me where it was like, I don’t want to be a victim of anything.”
