Anne Hathaway’s Under-$100 JW Pei Handbag Is on Sale for Prime Day
2 min readIt’s Anne Hathaway’s year. Along with her recent pregnancy announcement, the actress has been riding a style high during overlapping press tours for Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, and The Odyssey.
Between red carpets and ELLE covers, we spotted her carrying a $99 handbag by JW Pei, an editor-loved brand known for stylish silhouettes that look more expensive than they really are. The brand’s handbags are marked down by 20 percent during Amazon Prime Day through June 26, including Hathaway’s exact style.
She paired the black top-handle bag with a vintage Gianni Versace dress, platform Versace pumps, sheer black tights, and Bvlgari jewelry. With similar all-black styling, the versatile carryall works just as well for date nights, professional meetings, and cocktail parties as it does for celebrity appearances on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Several members of the ELLE shopping team own JW Pei bags, so obviously, I pestered them for this story. One colleague happened to own Hathaway’s exact Lucia Bag in white, and upon inspection, I was impressed to find an optional crossbody strap tucked inside a zippered interior pocket.
This isn’t the first time Hathaway has sported the affordable brand. In 2021, she was spotted wearing JW Pei’s Maze Crossbody (which is now sold out). Several other A-list stars have worn styles from the brand too, including Oprah, Hailey Bieber, Jenna Ortega, and Selena Gomez.
