From Tank Shapes to Jewel Tones: The Watch Trends Defining Summer 2026

The wristwatch is, in my estimation, the most “if you know, you know” fashion item of all. Wearing one is like an emblem of your swagger (bastardized as the word may be). And although I can see the irony in calling a timepiece timeless, they truly are excellent investment pieces.
To bring you the hottest watch trends for summer 2026, we surveyed this year’s Watches and Wonders, took in the latest runway innovations like those at the Gucci cruise show, pored over the commercial markets, and looked ahead at what’s to come next season. Ahead, browse—and buy!—the chicest watches right now.
Tank Shapes
Maybe this goes without saying, but tank-shaped styles have taken center stage in recent years. The timeless silhouette is posh and elegant, no matter what.
Green Hues
Green was spotted all over this year’s Watches and Wonders, from Rolex’s jade aventurine dial to Hublot’s sage-toned Big Bang. Fortunately, there are plenty of more accessible options to shop now from brands like Coach, Vanna, and even Balmain.
Jewel-Encrusted
I mean, are diamonds ever not en vogue? Naturally, this is one trend you’ll have to spend a little more on, but boy, does it pay off. Whether you opt for a tennis bracelet lookalike or a pavé tank, a glittering timepiece makes for the ultimate investment.
Blue Tones
Sky blue shades are also big right now, both on dials and straps. We think this cool-toned trend pairs especially well with contrasting warm gold metals, but you can’t go wrong with silver or platinum, either.
Burgundy Styles
Rounding out our color trends, we have burgundy, which also happens to be a trending shade for accessories writ large, like shoes and bags. Bulgari, Piaget, and Hermès are among the major players leading the way here, but Gucci, Ferragamo, and Versace have also gotten on board.
