Will Euphoria Return for Season 4? What We Know So Far

Estimated read time2 min read

It took four years for Euphoria to return to our screens after its season 2 finale; are fans due for another long wait after season 3 ends? Or maybe the better question is: Is another season coming at all?

The HBO series starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and more changed gears with its latest season, which took a time jump and launched their characters—whom we first met as high school students—into young adulthood as they navigate drug dealers, sex work, marriage, faith, and even Hollywood. The new direction has understandably left audiences questioning if season 3 would be Euphoria’s last. There’s also the fact that the cast has risen to superstardom since the show first premiered, which would make scheduling future seasons increasingly difficult. And after a tragic twist in episode 7, the cast would be drastically different without a key player in the mix. But still, it’s not over until HBO says it’s over. Here’s what we know about the possibility of another Euphoria season.

Has HBO renewed Euphoria for season 4?

Not yet. But the network also hasn’t confirmed that the third season will be the show’s last. Sunday night’s episode is still being called the season 3 finale rather than a series finale, leading viewers to question whether more lies ahead for Rue & co. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from HBO regarding the future of the series.

What has Sam Levinson said?

In April 2026, ahead of the season 3 premiere, the Euphoria creator told Variety he had “no plans” for a season 4 at the time. He said he writes “every season like it’s the last season” and was focused on giving the current installment his all.

“I want to finish this as strong as I can. I’m cutting [episodes] 7 and 8 still,” he said at the April 7 L.A. premiere. “I’m putting some finishing touches. I just want to deliver a fucking slam dunk season.”

What has Zendaya said?

The actress behind Rue hinted that season 3 would mark the end of Euphoria in an April interview with Drew Barrymore. When asked whether this would be the final season, Zendaya said, “I think so, yeah.” She added, according to Variety, “That closure is coming.” HBO did not address her comments, though.
