Mendes and Marquezine first sparked dating rumors in November 2025.
Marquezine was spotted attending Mendes’s Lollapalooza Brasil set in March 2025, but it wasn’t until late fall that speculation about their relationship began to build.
In November 2025, photos and videos surfaced of the two at Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour in São Paulo, with Marquezine seen holding Mendes’s arm in one clip.
Sightings of the pair together in Brazil continued the following month, with multiple outlets reporting that they took a New Year’s trip to Alagoas.
In early January, several outlets shared photos of the two kissing and showing PDA.
On Jan. 2, 2026, TMZ published photos of Mendes and Marquezine kissing while swimming in Alagoas, marking their first clear public display of affection.
About a week later, they were photographed together in Los Angeles, hugging during a grocery store outing on January 7. E! ran photos from the errand, describing it as a “PDA-filled” confirmation of their romance.
They remained in Los Angeles on January 11, when they were seen holding hands during a hike.
The couple spent Valentine’s Day 2026 together at Brazil’s Carnaval.
The two stars spent February 14 at Carnaval of all places, where they were photographed kissing and cuddling. Adorable!
In May 2026, the pair was photographed spending more time together in Los Angeles.
Marquezine and Mendes were seen having an affectionate reunion at LAX airport on May 11. Mendes picked her up, and they were filmed embracing. They were later photographed grocery shopping in Los Angeles that same day.
Marquezine is a Brazilian actress who began working when she was a child.
Marquezine was born on Aug. 4, 1995, in Duque de Caxias, near Rio de Janeiro.
In a November 2023 interview with ELLE, she reflected on starting her career at a young age, saying she felt certain about acting early on. “I know it’s kind of weird to think that a 5-year-old would know that she wanted to act,” she said. “But that’s how I felt at the time. I loved that I had responsibilities and would often be treated as a professional, as an adult.”
“I do remember the day that my friends realized I was famous,” Marquezine added. “One day I got to school, and all of my friends and other kids that I didn’t know were asking for autographs. That was really crazy. I was like, ‘Guys, I was here yesterday. We were just playing together.’”
“I was a normal kid, and I had this other life that I really loved,” she said.
The actress made her Hollywood feature debut in Blue Beetle.
In 2023, Marquezine made her Hollywood feature debut in DC’s Blue Beetle, playing Jenny Kord.
Speaking to Flaunt that year, she described the moment as both validating and surreal. “I always had a feeling that it could happen,” Marquezine said of working outside Brazil. “But I grew up listening to people say that it was impossible, that especially if you are from Brazil, you are never going to break through and make it anywhere else.”
She added that signing with U.S. representation solidified the shift: “Now that I’ve signed with UTA and have agents and publicists here, it’s all so surreal.”
Marquezine also recalled feeling overwhelmed while working alongside Susan Sarandon on set. “I remember feeling so insecure around her,” Marquezine said. “On one occasion, when we were almost done filming one of my character’s most important scenes, I felt I needed just one more take…afterward, Susan told me, ‘Wow, girl, that was great.’ All I could say was ‘Really?’ and then I started crying.”
She has spoken openly about representation.
In an October 2023 interview with Glass Magazine, Marquezine addressed the pressure of becoming the first Brazilian actress in a DC live-action superhero film. “I grew up hearing people say that it was impossible for Brazilian actors to break through and do stuff outside of the country, especially Hollywood,” she said.
“This was something that was always so far away from my reality. So I feel Blue Beetle is the first step…now I must focus on ensuring people will not put me in the ‘Latina’ box,” she added. “In my country, I’m not Latina; I’m just myself. And outside of my country, this is the first thing people see. And that’s something new to me. I’m learning how to navigate this industry outside of my country. It’s a challenge. Now I need to learn not to allow others to put me in that box.”
Marquezine also stars in projects in Brazil.
While expanding her career internationally, Marquezine has remained involved in Brazilian projects. She starred in Netflix’s Maldivas and later took on a lead role in Amor da Minha Vida, a romantic series for which she also served as a producer and director.
In a January 2025 interview with Hypebae, she described the experience of directing while acting as transformative. “Balancing acting and directing was a challenge, but it was also the most fulfilling experience,” she said. “Acting is about focusing on the emotions of a story and staying present in a scene while directing is about how all the pieces come together. It’s a balancing act, but both roles complement each other.”
She is also a major presence in fashion and beauty.
Marquezine has long been a fixture in the fashion world, attending Paris, Milan, and Venice Fashion Weeks and working with luxury brands including Tiffany & Co., Chopard, and Dolce & Gabbana. She even walked in Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2019 show and has appeared at high-profile events like the Cannes Film Festival and the Met Gala.
In 2025, she became a U.S. ambassador for YSL Beauty. “For me, beauty is about authenticity and confidence,” she told Hypebae. “It’s a reflection of who you are, not how you look.”
She has spoken about privacy and learning to protect her personal life.
Marquezine has been candid about how years of public scrutiny reshaped her boundaries. In her Flaunt interview, she explained why she intentionally stopped sharing personal details. “I’ve learned to keep stuff to myself, to not have to prove myself or to feel bad about what people are saying,” she said.
Marquezine was previously in a high-profile relationship.
Earlier in her career, Marquezine was publicly linked to Brazilian soccer star Neymar in an on-again, off-again relationship. In later interviews, including with Flaunt, she reflected on how that attention intensified scrutiny at a formative age. “You’re already trying to know yourself at that age,” she said, “and suddenly you have all these people telling you who you are, what you’re doing, what you deserve, and what you are capable of.”
