  • Meghan Markle offered post-wedding advice to a bride about to tie the knot.
  • She focused on the importance of marriage after the big event is over.
  • The Duchess of Sussex appeared to have recorded the message from Australia, where she and her husband, Prince Harry, were visiting.

On April 23, a fan shared a message from Meghan Markle on Instagram, according to People, in which she focused on marriage versus planning a wedding. The advice was directed towards a bride just before the big day, and appeared to have been filmed during her recent trip to Australia. The Duchess of Sussex was visiting the country last week with her husband, Prince Harry.

In the clip, Meghan tells the soon-to-be-married woman, “Ellie, I’m here with your dad. I just wanted to say congratulations on your wedding. Enjoy the wedding, but it’s more about the marriage. Have a wonderful, beautiful marriage and a lifetime of love. Sending you love all over the world. Your dad is awesome.”

She then blew a kiss to the camera.

Meghan and Harry married in 2018, and are coming up on their anniversary on May 19. The royal ceremony was held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and attended by the late Queen Elizabeth, as well as Harry’s father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William. They’ve since welcomed two children, Archie and Lilibet.

In April 2025, Meghan made an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, where she was asked if she believes she and Harry will “be married forever.

Meghan answered with a simple, “Yes,” then added, “He’s also a fox, if you haven’t noticed. My husband’s very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful.”

“There’s something that is not to be taken for granted when you have a partner and a spouse who is just so behind you,” Meghan continued. “You know, I mean, H, that man loves me so much. And you know, look what we built. We’ve built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children, [Archie and Lilibet]. And you know, I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Brothers when you get to the final, final level. And what’s the goal in Super Mario? They’re like, slay the dragon, save the princess. I’m like, that’s my husband….He’s just going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we’re uplifted and still make time for date nights.”
