Zendaya Wore a Sheer Corset Top by Day and a Plunging Gown by Night

Zendaya is booked and busy. On Thursday, March 7, the actress hit two different red carpets in two incredible looks.

For her first event, she attended the Essence Black Women in Hollywood awards during the day. Styled by her fashion sidekick, a.k.a. creative director Law Roach, she wore a see-through silver lace corset from Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring/summer 2020 couture collection. She paired the top with loose-fitting cuffed jeans and white stiletto pumps.

Her accessories were the star of the show, featuring two stacked chunky silver belts, cuff bracelets and arm bands, an assortment of silver rings, dainty hoop earrings, and a large silver choker by Bulgari.

Her hair was parted on the side and curled upwards at her shoulders.

Roach joined her on the carpet for a few photos.

After the ceremony, Zendaya headed to an Academy Awards dinner in Los Angeles with W Magazine and Louis Vuitton. For the glamorous event, the brand ambassador changed into a gorgeous gray gown with a plunging, halter neckline, cinched at the waist with a black ribbon in the center. The front of the skirt was slit open, revealing the black wide-leg trousers that she wore underneath with black pointed-toe pumps. She removed all her jewelry from earlier in the day, keeping only her tiny hoop earrings.

In her September 2023 cover story with ELLE, Zendaya reminisced on her first Disney Channel press tour for Shake It Up in 2012, and how that was one of her first times working with Roach. The actress had a limited budget at the time, and the stylist dressed her in bootcut jeans, an orange and white striped shirt with a yellow tank top peeking out from the bottom, adding a cropped turquoise blazer and wedges. She then posed for photos with costar Bella Thorne.

“I’m angry at him to this day. Like, why would you put me in this? Bitch, you could’ve done better!” Zendaya joked. She’s come a long way since then.
