2027: No opposition party will take control of Kano, Nigeria – Gov. Yusuf

By Bashir Bello
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has declared that no opposition party, African Democratic Congress, ADC, nor others will take control of the state and Nigeria in 2027.
The Governor made the remark while addressing a mammoth crowd that thronged the streets of Kano to receive him back to the state after his participation in the All Progressive Congress, APC National convention and other engagements in Abuja.
Governor Yusuf said the APC will remain at the helm of affairs in the state and Nigeria as a whole, saying the party is the only winning party.
Reacting to those in other camps describing him as a one-term governor, the Governor said his second term is assured in the APC, while also promising to work towards President Bola Tinubu’s reelection.
According to him, “And as we heard them say, one term. What I want to say is that we did one term in the NNPP and left. We will do second term in the APC. There is two terms in APC, the party of the people. The one term they say applies to those in ADC. You have seen what happened to them. They will not even form a government not to talk about having one term.
“Let me say that APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria as well by the grace of Allah.
“Let me say that the Kano State government, under my leadership, will continue to do what is best for the good people of this state. We will continue to provide dividends of democracy, especially on areas of education, infrastructure, health, agriculture, empowerment and employment, our team in youth, both men and women.
“Let me seize this opportunity to thank President Bola Tinubu for his doggedness in ensuring that dividend of democracy is provided in Nigeria. Mr. President has been doing his best for this country. He has improved the country’s economy. And let me say he is also doing his best to ensure that all infrastructure within all the zones are provided within the limited time and with the limited resources available to the federal government.
“Let me say that we in Kano are fully behind him and we will support his re-election come 2027 by the grace of Allah.
“I want to call on all of you to rededicate yourselves to the service of our great party, the APC. I want to appeal to you, all of you should go back and register with INEC so that 2027, by the grace of Allah, you will all come out and march to support the great party within Africa, which is the APC.
“I believe that come 2027, by the grace of Allah, APC will win this country, will win our state, will win all the elected posts, from the President to the Senate, to the House of Representatives, to the Governorship elections, as well as to state assemblies. What we want is your full understanding, full organization, full support and full evidence in ensuring that you protect the interests of your party,” Governor Yusuf said.
The Chairman, Kano State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Umar Doguwa said with the mammoth crowd that came out to receive the governor shows the resolve of the people to return the governor for his second term in 2027.
Meanwhile, it took Governor Abba Yusuf’s convoy eight hours from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA to get to the seat of power, Kano State government house, a journey of 15 minutes on a normal day.
