Spring 2026’s Biggest Bag Trends, Straight From the Runways

From the typical suspects (wicker) to more surprising appearances (square-shaped totes), handbags were a real focal point for the season. Ahead, we’re breaking down the top five bag trends for spring 2026.
Wicker
It wouldn’t be spring without a bit of rattan, now would it? Wicker reigned supreme at Santoni, Ferragamo, Dior, Fendi, and more. However, these iterations were all slightly more subtle than your classic basket bag.
Utilitarian
Your bag should work for you—not the other way around. Many runways (including Prada, Miu Miu, and Acne) had that rushing-out-the-door look with keys clipped onto the outside and a change of shoes smushed into the bottom of a tote. Women on the go, this is our time.

Be still, my beaded heart! If you, too, are a sucker for embellishments, you’ll be thrilled to know that embroidery and beadwork were major themes on the spring runways. Seriously, the list of designers who featured the accents is long, but it includes Fendi (naturally), Etro, Luar, Dries Van Noten, and Rabanne.
