Angelina Jolie stepped onto the red carpet on February 9 for the Paris premiere of her latest film, Couture, in a look fit for the film’s setting. Jolie attended the event at Pathé Palace in a sheer, floor-length gown embellished with intricate metallic beading that created a silver floral design.
The dress featured short sleeves, a fitted silhouette, and a hemline finished with delicate fringe that moved as she walked. She styled the look simply, pairing it with pointed-toe black heels and minimal jewelry.
The premiere marked a significant moment for Jolie, who stars in Couture as Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker navigating a breast cancer diagnosis while working during Paris Fashion Week. Speaking about the movie during a Deadline panel at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Jolie said, “It’s very personal to me, and women’s health and women’s cancers are very personal to me.”
In a September interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Alice Winocour was clear that Couture is not intended to be a film about the fashion industry alone. “It’s a film about a woman who learned she has a cancer; it’s not a film about cancer,” she said. “In the same way it’s a film about a young African girl arriving in Paris confronted with the harshness of this world, and it’s not a film about fashion.”
Winocour added that her focus was on the emotional ties between the film’s characters, explaining, “I wanted to show solidarity between women.” She described the movie as being about “sharing stitches—how you can connect with people who come from very different worlds.”
