I Thought I Had the Best Sheets Yet—and Then I Tried These

It wasn’t until I bought high-quality sheets that I started to think of myself as a true adult (as in, ah-dult). Since then, my bedding—and towels, for that matter—have become a primary factor when it comes to elevating my everyday life. (You haven’t lived until you’ve swaddled yourself in a lush bath sheet.)

So, when the opportunity came to swap out my linens—which, according to my colleague and lifestyle guru Meg Donohue, is supposed to be every few years—be it to replace my older, worn ones or just a color update, I had a few brands in mind with a touch of skepticism. After all, what one person prefers to sleep in will be vastly different from another; some think linen sheets veer itchy. I feel like sateen options give me the feeling of sliding off of a mattress. (And, if I have to suggest any type of material for your bedding, I swear by percale—but that’s neither here nor there.) Then, of course, there’s the aesthetic of it all.
