Cos Is the Affordable Runway Brand on Everyone’s Wishlists

A little over a year ago, I had the chance to review COS’s spring/summer 2024 collection in Rome. Ever since, I’ve hardly shut up about it. And with this week’s unveiling of the Lyst Q1 report, it feels more relevant than ever. COS marks the first mass-fashion brand to break into the index’s top 10 brands—ever. It jumped 11 points, bumping Bottega Veneta out of sixth place with a 44 percent rise in demand.

If we’re to trust the list (and we always do), you can expect that COS will only get more popular from here on out, so I’m offering a primer with everything you need to know about the London-based company.

COS is for the woman (or man) who cares about how they dress and how they spend. Yes, this is a runway brand, but most items are priced between $100 and $300, making it far and away some of the most affordable luxury ready-to-wear. Its designs balance contemporary looks with sophisticated modesty, making it a great brand for shoppers of all ages. You won’t find yourself stuck between racks of micro miniskirts or sheer tube tops. Instead, COS offers chic workwear that you’ll want to wear to the office and beyond. Find trendy items, like chunky aviators; seasonal must-haves, like summer linen; and bestsellers like barrel jeans.

My personal recommendations are the black buckled ballet flats you’ll find below, which I literally wear on repeat, and although it’s not a summer staple, my COS jacket is my most-worn layering piece in my arsenal. Ahead, browse a few of my favorite pieces, and shop the full inventory online or in-store.
