Jennifer Lopez Shares Gratitude Post on First Thanksgiving Post-Divorce From Ben Affleck
On Friday morning, Jennifer Lopez shared a pic from her Thanksgiving featuring her delicious turkey on Instagram. In the cute photo, Lopez is wearing a semi-sheer knit sweater covered in floral embroidery, blue jeans, and dangling earrings. She had her hair pulled back with tendrils around her face, framing her big smile.
In the caption, the star wrote, “I hope everybody had a beautiful and Happy Thanksgiving. I am so incredibly grateful for all of you. ????.”
This is the first major holiday since Lopez filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck in August, with papers that stated their separation date as April of that year. The former couple were married for two years. Affleck spent Thanksgiving with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and their three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. They all volunteered in Los Angeles at The Midnight Mission’s annual Thanksgiving Street Fair, serving food to the homeless.
Affleck and Garner posed with the non-profit’s CEO, David Prentice, for a photo on Instagram. The organization wrote in the caption, “Their kindness, warmth, and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community. Thank you, Ben and Jennifer, for serving meals and sharing smiles on this special day. Your compassion reminds us all of the true meaning of Thanksgiving—coming together to support one another.”
In early November, a source spoke with People about his continued contact with Lopez, saying she also made an effort to stay in touch with his kids.
“Jennifer is doing well. She doesn’t dwell on the past,” the insider said. “She’s so grateful for everything that she has. The divorce is still being worked out.”
The source added, “Jennifer keeps in touch with the Affleck kids. Her whole family loves them. She wants them to know that they can always reach out if they need anything at all.”
