Kristen Stewart Went Pantsless in Quilted Underwear for Her Press Tour

Kristen Stewart demonstrated mastery of the pantsless trend in New York City today while continuing her press tour for Love Lies Bleeding. The actress wore a nude button-down top with just one button closed, and a tan Victoria’s Secret bra visible underneath. She finished the Brunello Cucinelli look with quilted underwear and red heels. Stewart wore her wet hair parted to the side.

The actress spoke to Rolling Stone recently about the new film and what drew her to it. In the project, Stewart plays a gym manager, Lou, who falls for a female bodybuilder.

“It was really fucking fun to be allowed to have the little, dykey sister be the main protagonist in a movie,” Stewart said of her character. “That’s never the main character in a movie. That’s never the one that you want to fuck. I mean, that’s the one some people do, but not the one that you are prescribed to want to fuck.”

As a queer actress, Stewart felt like the movie, which isn’t centered on a coming out story, allowed her to return to her “first setting. It is a really weird, kind of moving return to form in some way. Kind of like who you are when you’re 11—physically, the clothes you choose to wear—before you’ve just been pummeled by male expectation.”

“I never have felt like I have performed a femininity in order to reap its benefits in a way that felt like a lie,” she added. “I’m very fluid, and I’ve never felt like, ‘Oh, wow, I was doing this lie for a long time in order to get jobs.’ That would be wrong. I have had a good time playing with all of the tonal qualities. But there’s so much room for success when you choose the girlie one. There’s no room for this other one.”
