Selena Gomez Reveals What She and Taylor Swift Were Actually Discussing at the 2024 Golden Globes

Selena Gomez has had enough of the internet’s made-up Golden Globes drama involving her, Timothée Chalamet, and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner. Two days after footage of Gomez talking to Taylor Swift sparked rumors that Jenner blocked her from taking a photo with Chalamet at the ceremony, Gomez revealed on Instagram what she and Swift were actually talking about. It—no surprise—had nothing to do with Chalamet or Jenner.

Gomez commented on E!’s Instagram about the moment. The outlet had captioned it, “At tea time, we’d love to know if Selena Gomez was really gossiping about Kylie Jenner & Timothée Chalamet at this year’s #GoldenGlobes. ???? A source sets the record straight at the link in bio.” Gomez wrote, “Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business.”

Gomez’s official response comes after a source close to her told People yesterday that Gomez “was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie.” They added that Gomez “never even saw or spoke to them [Jenner and Chalamet]” at the Globes.

Chalamet also addressed the moment with a TMZ photographer who asked him repeatedly about it on Monday night. The reporter asked if he and Gomez were “cool,” and he replied, “Yeah, of course.” When asked if Jenner and Gomez had any “beef,” he said, “No.”

He added, “We’re all good.” Between Chalamet’s remarks and Gomez’s comment, it is safe to say the internet can put this wild theory, based solely off of lip reading and speculation, to bed.
