Sophie Turner Reflects on Her 2023 After Joe Jonas Breakup and Shares 2024 Plans
Sophie Turner is letting the world know her priority for 2024 isn’t any boy. In an Instagram post shared on January 2, Turner bid farewell to 2023 and welcomed the new year with “the girlies.” The Game of Thrones actress posted a photo dump, including a bunch of pictures with her friends. (One of the photos featured Miss Taylor Swift herself.) She captioned the carousel, “2023 was the year of the girlies. 2024s forecast is looking fairly consistent.”
Keke Palmer showed Turner some love, commenting “????????.”
2023 was a significant year for Turner. The actress and her musician husband Joe Jonas split in September after four years of marriage and welcoming two daughters. Breakup rumors began surfacing early that month when fans noticed both Turner and Jonas were spotted without their wedding rings. TMZ added fuel to the gossip, reporting that the couple was “headed for divorce” on September 3. Two days later, Jonas filed for divorce.
The couple confirmed their split on Instagram, writing in a joint statement, “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
Come late October, Turner and British aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson sparked dating rumors when they were seen sharing a kiss in Paris. A source revealed to Us Weekly that things weren’t serious between them. In early December, Turner and Pearson were seen kissing again, and Us Weekly reported that they’ve “become progressively closer.”
But as Turner wrote on Instagram, 2024 is about friendship. Since her split from Jonas, Turner has been seen spending time with many pals, including Swift. The two stars had a girls’ night out in New York City in September, and Swift even let Turner stay at one of her spare NYC properties while Turner and Jonas were working through their child custody case. Swift is “supporting her [Turner] however she can” through the divorce, a source told Us Weekly then.
