Blue Ivy Carter and Beyoncé Matched in Black and Had a Viral Moment on the Renaissance Red Carpet

Taylor Swift wasn’t the only celeb to add some major star power to the London premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé Thursday night. Blue Ivy Carter, Beyoncé’s 11-year-old daughter and noted scene-stealer in the concert film, also stepped out with her mom. Beyoncé wore a low-cut black dress with an ultra-high slit, while Blue was in a matching off-the-shoulder black gown of her own. The mother and daughter posed together in front of photographers, although Beyoncé has not released pics of them yet.

She shared shots of her own look on her site.

Cameras also captured one of their sweet red carpet moments, which quickly went viral. In the clip, which Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, posted on Instagram, Beyoncé got concerned that Blue was cold. “This has me in tears right now,” Tina wrote. “To the fans that are there uplifting this beautiful talented 11 year old I thank you I appreciate you ❤️❤️”

Blue received advanced praise for her role in the movie in the New York Times’ review. She appears in a lot of the behind-the-scene footage, the newspaper wrote, and gaveher often unsugarcoated opinion on stage design, song choices and more. In a film where everyone else treats Beyoncé as a boss or a goddess, Blue Ivy is an amusingly irreverent presence.”

Blue appeared as a dancer throughout the Renaissance tour. Her mother gave her a shoutout on Instagram in May for her hard work. “My beautiful first born ???????? ,” Beyoncé shared on May 29. “I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel.”
