Blackpink’s Rosé Wears a Saint Laurent Gown at Her First Cannes Film Festival

Rosé attended her first Cannes Film Festival on an elegant note. The Blackpink singer stepped onto the red carpet for the Monster premiere today wearing a black, high neck gown by Saint Laurent (she is an ambassador for the brand). She wore her signature light pink hair in a neat bun and wore delicate dangling earrings to complete the look.

Rosé had hinted at her Cannes appearance hours ago when she revealed that she was in town in an Instagram Story. She even tagged Saint Laurent and its creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, in some posts and posed with model Soo Joo Park in a video.

Rosé’s appearance in the French Riviera comes days after she and her fellow band members performed in Singapore as part of Blackpink’s ongoing world tour. While the schedules may be hectic, getting IRL face time with fans means a lot to them. Rosé previously told ELLE that meeting fans on their 2018 world tour felt “real and genuine, not like we were watching it on a screen or getting feedback on Instagram—it was literally right in front of our eyes.”

Saint Laurent announced Rosé as the brand’s global face in 2020. “Rosé is trustworthy and meaningful on various subjects, beyond her image,” Vaccarello told ELLE. “She is always giving people something different and unexpected, because she goes her own way, fully in control of her never-obvious choices.”

After Cannes, Blackpink has more tour stops ahead in June. The momentum isn’t stopping any time soon for the band; as Rosé told us, “Life is work, and work is life!”
