Matt Healy Attended Taylor Swift’s Nashville Show and Jumped On Stage to Perform
On Saturday night, Taylor Swift’s rumored love interest Matt Healy was enjoying her concert in Nashville alongside her friends Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge. The 1975 singer was seen receiving a warm hug from Hadid and then watching his suspected girlfriend sing with his hand over his heart, seemingly moved by the music. Swift’s friends appear to be embracing her new guy, after unfollowing her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn on social media. Swift and Alwyn dated for six years before news of their split broke in April.
Healy wasn’t just there to watch, he also performed with opening act Phoebe Bridgers. A video showed Healy playing guitar in the sold out stadium while wearing a skeleton suit. Earlier this week, The Sun reported a source claims that Swift and Healy planned to announce their relationship shortly. This would be very different from Swift’s arrangement with Alwyn. She and the Conversations With Friends actor stayed out of the public eye.
“Taylor and Matty have been planning their ‘coming out’ for a few weeks now, and are really excited just to go public with their love,” said the source. “Neither of them want any secrets, or to hide away. The plan is for Matty to walk out on stage mid-show and play two songs.”
They added, “They will chat to the audience and, at present, the idea is for them to confirm their romance with some kind of PDA — public display of affection. It won’t be anything remotely cheesy though.”
A second source told the publication, “She and Matty are madly in love… It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out.”
The source also alleged that Swift and Alwyn split in February, and the news only came out this spring, “so there was absolutely no crossover.”
“Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of Face-Timing and texting but she cannot wait to see him again,” they continued, saying the two artists “are incredibly supportive of their respective careers.”
“They are both massively proud and excited about this relationship and, unlike Taylor’s last one — which was very much kept out of the spotlight, deliberately — she wants to ‘own’ this romance, and not hide it away,” the source said.
Whether they’ll say they’re dating outright or not, Swift and Healy seem to be sending each other messages for fans to decode.
In the first week of May, they have each mouthed the same words during their shows, saying, “This is about you, you know who you are. I love you.”
