A Blanket-Clad Justin Bieber Didn’t Join Hailey on Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party Red Carpet Amid Selena Drama

Hailey Bieber made her first event appearance following the Selena Gomez TikTok drama that has dominated news coverage and the social media platform. The model attended Vanity Fair’s Oscars after party, posing solo on the red carpet in a Saint Laurent black dress.

Her husband Justin Bieber attended too, but opted not to pose with her in front of cameras. Page Six reports that Justin snuck into the party, wearing a blanket (similar to A$AP Rocky’s look at the 2021 Met Gala). He was photographed inside wearing the quilt, all smiles.

“He came in a back entrance and met Hailey inside,” one source said.

Two other sources claimed to Page Six that Justin didn’t appear to be his normal self at the party, despite the happy photos. “Justin did not look well. He was hunched over and wearing a blanket,” one said. Another witness added to the outlet that Justin appeared to be “tormented” and seemed “weird.”

Earlier that day, Justin posted a tribute to Hailey, expressing his love for her. It’s the first direct comment he’s made on their relationship since their relationship, and Hailey and Selena’s history, went viral on TikTok. “LUV U BABY,” he wrote. Hailey commented, “????????.”

Neither Hailey nor Justin have overtly commented on the Selena TikTok drama, which resulted when fans pored through the three’s history and alleged that Hailey hadn’t always been kind to Selena, who Justin dated on-off for eight years.

To briefly recap: Justin and Hailey, who publicly dated in 2016, originally began talking again as friends in December 2017 after a year of not speaking to each other…while Justin was dating Selena. Hailey and Justin started dating again in June 2018, just months after Selena and Justin ended their on-off romance in March 2018. Justin then proposed to Hailey in July 2018, and the two got married that September in a New York City courthouse. The history is long and complex; you can read a full recap here. The three, of course, have now all moved past the drama.

Justin received media attention earlier this month when he gave out a party favor at his 29th birthday that said, “I’m so thankful I didn’t end up with what I thought I wanted.” Some thought it may have been a shady reference to Selena, but others pointed out it could have just been about Justin’s life generally.
