All About Charlie Gooch, Florence Pugh’s Rumored New Boyfriend
Following her breakup from Zach Braff, Florence Pugh sparked rumors that she may involved with a London boy when she and Charlie Gooch were photographed showing affection on Valentine’s Day. Photographers noted they were also wearing matching rings. Pugh hasn’t commented on Gooch or their relationship status, but they do follow each other on Instagram. Here’s what to know about the rumored new leading man in Pugh’s life.
Charlie Gooch is a photographer based in South London.
Gooch, who goes by Guy Gooch professionally, described himself simply on his photography site as a “photographer and filmmaker living and working in South London.” His website and Instagram showcase his work, and he keeps his online presence minimal beyond his photography.
Gooch photographed Pugh way back in June 2021, hinting they were friends first.
At that point, Pugh was still dating Zach Braff.
Gooch shared multiple photos of Pugh on his Instagram in June 2021 during her Black Widow press tour, suggesting their friendship started years back.
“Shot Florence Pugh as part of her upcoming film Black Widow! Super excited to be part of this journey :),” he captioned his first shot that Pugh liked on June 3, 2021.
“Some more shots of the wonderful Florence Pugh, ready for @jimmykimmellive. An amazing experience with an amazing team!” he wrote on the second one, posted June 5, 2021.
And on his third shot, shared on June 28, 2021, he wrote, “Excited to share my new moving image with Florence! So great to be able to make this with her and be part of this journey. Everything came together with a wonderful team.”
Gooch and Pugh were first photographed out together in early December 2022.
Page Six noted that Pugh and Gooch were first seen together in December 2022, partying after she attended the British Fashion Awards. Daily Mail ran photos of them leaving her hotel the morning after, describing Gooch in the headline as the “friend” she left with.
Gooch and Pugh sparked romantic rumors in February 2023.
The two were seen holding hands on Valentine’s Day 2023 (see another photo from that outing above), and the photo agency noted they were wearing matching bands on their ring fingers. Neither commented on the relationship speculation. Pugh did mention she recently got a place in South London, where Gooch also lives, during a January 2023 interview with Vogue.
“It’s all very new,” she said, referring to her breakup with Zach Braff, which she announced in August 2022. “My breakup has been very new, so I’m figuring that out [whether I’ll get my own place in Los Angeles, too].”
Pugh chose South London because several of her secondary school friends live there. “You know, you have a daydream when you start out: What is it that means you’ve made it? What is it that means you are an adult? And for me it was: You live close to your friends and you have a local pub,” she said. “And because I didn’t do that when I was young, because I didn’t go to university, it meant that for all of my adult years of working and my adult years living abroad, I still, in my mind, hadn’t got all the pieces together.”
