Lizzo Says She and Adele ‘Got So Drunk’ at the Grammys With Smuggled Booze
On February 5, celebrities gathered for the 2023 Grammy Awards, and both Adele and Lizzo were nominated. They were also seated together, and it sounds like they had the time of their lives thanks to a few special flasks. On Friday, February 10, Lizzo went on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, sharing that she and Adele were a little buzzed on the big night.
“I was so drunk,” she admitted. “Me and Adele were drinking so much that we didn’t even really know what the categories were at this point. We were like, ‘Wait. Did they do best new artist?’ We didn’t even know when it was time and they would just call out names so we were like, ‘Smile, smile.’”

Lizzo eventually won the Record of the Year award for “About Damn Time,” while Adele took home Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Easy on Me.”
“When they called my name I was in total shock because I didn’t expect to win at all,” she said.
After being asked about where she was seated with Adele and Harry Styles, Lizzo explained, “I had zero say in where I was sitting…But Adele had 100% say in where she was sitting.”
She continued, “Adele FaceTimed me when I was at Grammy rehearsal a few days before and she was like ‘Oh my god, oh my god, we’re sitting next to each other.’”
Lizzo said she brought a flask of tequila for herself and another one filled with white wine for her friend.
“I brought it for Adele and then I drank hers,” she said . “I had so many flasks. I had like three flasks at the table. Always be prepared.”
