Glossier’s Balm Dotcom Is Now Vegan and Easier to Use

Balm Dotcom was one of Glossier’s first products, and it might be the most universally beloved. The juicy skincare-meets-makeup lip product comes in a multitude of nostalgic flavors–from Birthday Cake to Mango–and makes applying lip balm a little treat.

Times are changing though, so Balm Dotcom is getting a Gen Z rebrand (sorry, millennial pink). The multi-purpose balm now has a petrolatum-free and vegan formula that includes castor jelly, which gives the same occlusive barrier without the greasy finish.

On top of the castor jelly, the new formula, which is just as nourishing as the original, contains synthetic beeswax, vitamin E to hydrate, and a natural emollient blend (as opposed to non-vegan lanolin). Unlike the original formula, the new and improved Balm Dotcom doesn’t leave lips with a slippery feel. Instead, it boasts a waxy texture that stays in place and seals in moisture for smoother lips.

Its iconic packaging is also getting a major upgrade: It now comes with an applicator tip for a finger-free application. Plus, the twist cap has been redesigned to lock, so there’s no spillage of balm in your bag or pocket.

The new Balm Dotcom comes in nine flavors, including Wild Fig–an old limited-edition shade that Glossier added to the permanent lineup. While Glossier did discontinue the beloved Cherry flavor, you can still expect fan-favorite flavors like Rose, a barely-there pink, and cooling mint.
