The We Are All Human Gala Honors the Hispanic Community

Over 500 guests arrived at The Gotham Hotel in New York City last night for The We Are All Human Gala, celebrating the contributions that the Hispanic community has made in 2022. Hosted by the The We Are All Human Foundation, a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing the careers of Hispanics in the United States, the event brought together various leaders across different sectors, including actress Ana de la Reguera, influencer Kunno, designer Julia Haart, and legendary activist Dolores Huerta, who was honored with the Hispanic Star Award.

“We have so much work to do, but I know that with organizations like We Are All Human, we can create systemic change,” Huerta told the crowd. “We Are All Human has so much capacity, intelligence, and vision that, together with all the other organizations, we can work towards one common goal to make the world a better place.” Huerta received a standing ovation during her final remarks, as she asked everyone in the room to join her in a chant of “si se puede!” (“yes we can!” in Spanish)—a slogan she coined during a farmworkers protest, when she was told “no you can’t.”

Spirits remained high throughout the evening. Cocktails were poured, and a live silent auction took place, with all funds benefitting the We Are All Human Foundation. For those who couldn’t make it IRL, the auction will continue through January 18, and includes art, sports, and fashion offerings (two VIP tickets to New York Fashion Week, anyone?) “The gala went beyond our expectations and we are grateful for all the support we received,” said We Are All Human founder and CEO Claudia Romo Edelman. “We are delighted by the success of this evening and for the opportunity to recognize legendary leaders as Hispanic Stars.”
