Selena Gomez Paired a Cozy Striped Sweater With a Chic Black Peacoat for Dinner at Carbone

Selena Gomez is in New York City just in time for her friend Taylor Swift’s Midnights release tonight—and dining at celeb hotspot Carbone. Gomez was photographed arriving at the Italian restaurant yesterday evening, wearing a black and white striped sweater with jeans and an open black peacoat. She accessorized with black heeled boots, hoop earrings, and a statement red lip.

Gomez’s appearance out in the city comes just two days after Swift was photographed out in New York City with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Both Swift and Gomez, longtime friends, will be on The Tonight Show next week on Monday and Wednesday respectively. The two have made a point to keep the bulk of their 14-year friendship private. They last shared a photograph together in July for Gomez’s 30th birthday.

Gomez told WSJ magazine in January 2020 that much of her friendship with Swift is kept hidden on purpose. “There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do,” she said. “She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family. It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world. We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.”
