2023: PDP submits results of Edo Assembly, House of Reps primary elections to INEC – Nigerian Observer

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, submitted the results of the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives primary elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Chairman of Edo PDP House of Representatives Primaries Committee, Mr. Kolawole Shittu, and his Edo State House of Assembly Committee counterpart, Mr. Agbateyiniro Isaac, along with other members of their committees submitted the results at the Edo INEC office, in Benin City.

The primary elections were held on Sunday, May 22, across the state and monitored by officials of INEC in the state.

Briefing journalists shortly after the submission, Shittu said, “We are here to submit the results of the House of Representatives primary election that was held yesterday in Edo to the state chapter of INEC.

“During the primary election yesterday, delegates voted peacefully and selected their preferred candidates. That is why we are here today at the INEC office in Benin City and we have submitted the report.”

On his part, the Chairman, Edo PDP House of Assembly Primaries Committee, Isaac noted, “The primary election yesterday by our delegates was very free, fair and credible and that is what, of course, we actually gave to them yesterday.

“After here, we are also going to take another copy of these results to the national office of PDP, where we will submit the other and final copies. We want to thank the Edo PDP faithful for their support and the enabling environment that was given to us to conduct this primary election.”
