How Prince William and Kate Middleton Marked Meghan Markle and Harry’s Son Archie’s Birthday

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor celebrated his third birthday on May 6, and his extended family celebrated the event on social media. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s firstborn child was wished a happy birthday by his uncle, Prince William, and his aunt, Kate Middleton. They shared a portrait on Twitter from his christening at Windsor Castle taken in 2019, in which Harry and Meghan are cradling their baby on a green couch at the center of their family members.

The picture includes William, Kate, Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, the Duchess of Cornwall, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridges wrote in the caption, “Wishing Archie a very happy 3rd Birthday today.”

Archie’s birthday was also acknowledged by the official Buckingham Palace Twitter account. They shared another older photo of Meghan holding Archie as a baby, with Queen Elizabeth II smiling down at the infant, and the late Prince Philip standing behind her. Also in the photo are Harry and Ragland, their eyes glued to the bundle in Meghan’s arms.

“Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 3rd Birthday,” the caption reads.

Clarence House remembered Archie on social media as well, with an Instagram Story on their official account. This photo shows Princes Charles in a black-and-white standing beside his son, who is holding Archie.

“Happy birthday Archie,” the caption reads.

Many of the photos are older because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from their duties as senior members of the royal family and moved to Montecito, California. They have since experienced some difficulties with visiting, arguing that the security they’re being offered is not sufficient for their protection in the United Kingdom. However, a spokesperson for the Sussexes has just announced that they have decided to return with their kids to celebrate the queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which will be taking place in June.

In a statement to Harper’s Bazaar, the spokesperson said, “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honored to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children.”

This will be their first official public appearance in the country since 2020 and the first time their 11-month-old daughter Lilibet will be visiting.
