Sartorially, the Biebers went opposite directions. Hailey dressed in a classic strapless white Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello gown, wearing her brown hair in a braid. Justin went more modern and casual in an oversized gray suit with a pink beanie.

Justin is performing at tonight’s Grammys ceremony. He’s nominated for Record of the Year (“Peaches”), Album of the Year (Justice), Song of the Year (“Peaches”), Best Pop Solo Performance (“Anyone”), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Lonely” with Benny Blanco), Best Pop Vocal Album (Justice), Best R&B Performance (“Peaches”), and Best Music Video (“Peaches”).

Justin spoke to GQ last May about his journey in faith and how God helped him better understand why he felt called to make music and navigate the fame that comes with it. “I came to a place where I just was like, ‘God, if you’re real, I need you to help me, because I can’t do this on my own. Like, I’m struggling so hard. Every decision I make is out of my own selfish ego.’ So I’m just like, ‘What is it that you want from me? You put all these desires in my heart for me to sing and perform and to make music—where are these coming from? Why is this in my heart? What do you want me to do with it? What’s the point? What is the point of everything? What is the point of me being on this planet?’”

He said he suddenly had certainty: “If God forgives me and He loves me and He set these things in motion, if He put these desires in my heart, then I’m going to trust Him.”
