Dress Me for…Vacation
Professional dancer MeganAnna was diagnosed with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in 2018. “It’s affected not only the way I view myself, but the way I’m viewed in the industry,” she says. “I’m a professional dancer, so a lot of that comes with the way you look and the way you present yourself. It’s almost impossible to be the true version of yourself and be able to show up the way you need to.”
MeganAnna is one of the approximately 1.6 million people in the U.S. who are estimated to be affected by CSU. Its symptoms can include persistent itchy hives and deep swelling, often without a clearly identifiable cause. CSU comes down to your body’s unique immune response, specifically when your body’s mast cells in the skin release histamine and other inflammatory mediators. This unpredictability can be both physically and emotionally challenging, as MeganAnna has experienced over the years. So, we partnered with celebrity fashion stylist Jason Bolden to treat her to a day focused on feeling confident and cared for—including dressing her in a chic, getaway-ready resort look.
For someone who’s used to layering and covering up her skin, MeganAnna hopes Bolden will take her in a different direction and push some boundaries. “I want people to notice me—not my skin,” she says.
Watch the video above to see how MeganAnna’s resort look allows her to incorporate texture without irritating her skin.
