Stewart has done exactly that in Spencer, a so-called “fable” by writer Steven Knight and director Pablo Larraín that takes place entirely over one Christmas at Sandringham House, mere yards from Diana’s childhood home. Spencer initially enjoyed a theater-exclusive run, meaning that the only way to watch was at your local cinema.
