Beneficiaries Get Certificates On Digital Marketing Training Programme for (MSMEs) in Edo State – Nigerian Observer

BNIN CITY – The Edo State Skills Development Agency (EDOJOBS) in collaboration with the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) and the Edo State Ministry of Wealth Creation, Cooperatives and Employment, with support of the Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment in Nigeria Programme – SEDIN of GIZ yesterday held a Certificates Presentation Ceremony of the Digital Marketing Training for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Edo State. The ceremony was to close out on the Free Digital Marketing Training for Businesses in Edo State held between May and September 2021.

The training was aimed at equipping MSMEs in with Digital Marketing Skills and Support to assist them to catch up with the new normal resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

MSMEs were able to leverage technology in a way that it maximizes their sales reach and the delivery of their products and services during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Learning Methodology was interactive physical classroom sessions that took into cognizance COVID-19 protective measures.

Four hundred and forty five (445) MSMEs from across the three senatorial districts of the state were trained. Trainings were held in Benin City (Edo South), Uromi (Edo Central) and Auchi (Edo North) at different dates between May and September 2021.

The trainings covered essential topics including Search Engine Optimisation, Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC), Social Media Marketing (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc.) and Management, Email Marketing, Mobile Marketing, Content Marketing and Digital Copy Writing.

Digital Marketing Agents were also engaged to support the MSMEs. The objective of the Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment in Nigeria Programme – SEDIN of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is to improve the employment and income of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

To achieve the programme goal of increased income and employment, SEDIN is working to improve the business enabling environment and policy/regulatory framework for MSMEs development and employment promotion in selected states.

Furthermore, the programme aims at facilitating local economic development and strengthening selected value chains, fostering economic literacy & entrepreneurship competencies and MSME development.

Highpoint of the event was presentation of certificates to the beneficiaries of the digital marketing programme.
