Meet Eéra, the Fine Jewelry Brand Behind Dua Lipa’s Nontraditional Engagement Ring
When picking out Dua Lipa’s engagement ring, Callum Turner skipped the expected heritage maisons and instead enlisted Eéra—the Milan-based fine jewelry label the singer’s had on rotation for years. For a bride who does things her own way, it was a ring that did too.
Turner consulted Lipa’s friends and sister on the piece, and ultimately landed on a natural round-cut diamond set into a substantial 18K yellow gold cigar-style band. The chunky silhouette reflects both a broader shift toward sculptural, personality-driven engagement rings and a design language that has long been central to Eéra. For co-founders Romy Blanga and Chiara Capitani, it was an opportunity to reinterpret one of jewelry’s most traditional categories through the lens of the brand’s industrial aesthetic.
“We’ve always been fascinated by objects that are designed purely for function,” Blanga says, as Capitani references the brand’s cult-favorite carabiner necklaces and bracelets, able to be personalized with gemstones and charms. “That process of elevating the ordinary into something personal is at the heart of Eéra.”
As one of Eéra’s earliest celebrity devotees—a roster that has since grown to include Hailey Bieber, Florence Pugh, and Vittoria Ceretti—Lipa’s ring couldn’t have been more fitting. After all, if an engagement ring is something you’ll wear every day, why shouldn’t it feel like a natural extension of the jewelry you already love?
“The project was deeply personal from the beginning,” Blanga notes. “What has been especially rewarding is seeing people connect not just with the ring itself, but with the idea that an engagement ring can reflect someone’s individual style rather than follow convention. It became part of a much wider conversation about modern bridal jewelry and individuality, which aligns perfectly with our philosophy.”
Blanga and Capitani encourage their customers to mix and match their pieces, a philosophy Lipa has taken to heart by pairing her ring with her go-to stack of Cartier and Bulgari bijoux.
Capitani and Blanga, who previously worked in fashion consulting and public relations, respectively, launched Eéra in 2019 after discovering a simple snap hook at a vintage market in Tokyo. The find became the foundation of the brand’s signature hardware-forward jewelry and a motif that continues to evolve: carabiner-shaped earrings trimmed with diamonds, chain-link and pendant necklaces, and sturdy rings with neon facets.
As for the future, the design duo is excited to continue honing its signature offerings—and perhaps crafting other engagement rings for cool brides-to-be. “People today are looking for luxury that feels authentic rather than purely decorative,” Blanga says. “They appreciate objects with purpose [and] clean design.”
