Taylor Swift Sources Address Rumors of a Wedding Documentary
THE RUNDOWN
- Sources addressed rumors that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce filmed their wedding for a documentary or streaming service, saying that’s not the case.
- The insiders did not indicate whether any part of their wedding footage will eventually be shared publicly.
- Swift and Kelce went to great lengths to keep their wedding events private, and no official photos or video have been released yet.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went to great lengths to keep their Madison Square Garden wedding events private, having guests sign NDAs and banning phones from the event. But after photos emerged of a June 29 to July 3 filming notice outside their venue, Swift and Kelce sparked rumors they could be planning to eventually release their wedding footage to fans as a documentary on a streaming platform—or even in theaters. (AMC Theatres’s CEO and multiple Disney executives, including its president Dana Walden, were among their invited wedding guests.)
Sources set the record straight to Entertainment Tonight this evening, sharing that the wedding was not filmed to be a documentary or for a streaming service. The insiders did not specify what the pair plan to do with the footage or if any parts of it will ever be made public. One insider did reveal how happy Swift is, though, saying, “Taylor feels like she truly got her love story.”
Swift and Kelce had always planned to keep their wedding out of the public eye. In September, a source told People, “[They] want to keep it more private,” explaining, “It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle. They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
Plenty of details have come out though, with one source telling People more about the 20-minute vows Swift wrote for Kelce earlier today. The singer referenced Kelce’s teen years.
“Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime,” the insider said. “And Taylor talked about how she wished she knew someone like that when she was in high school. It was so special.”
Two guests also told NBC News that Swift even sang part of her vows.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has posted anything about their wedding yet. But immediately after they got married, Swift’s spokesperson gave a statement revealing some key details about the ceremony.
The rep said:
The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.
Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’s Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.
