Selena Gomez has been in London for weeks, working on the sixth season of Only Murders in the Building. But ahead of her longtime friend Taylor Swift’s wedding rehearsal dinner tonight, the actress hopped on a plane to travel over 3,400 miles away to New York City. Gomez shared a video of herself en route to the Madison Square Garden venue. She was wearing a black look with Fernando Jorge jewelry, including $29,000 earrings and a $11,000 ring.
Prior to this evening, the actress was last seen in London on June 30 and was photographed filming scenes with Nicola Coughlan on June 29.
Gomez was very active on social media today, sharing a message to her husband, Benny Blanco, as they maintain their long-distance relationship. She also teased a new product launch. (Her Rare Beauty account has too, with the promo focused on the word “Wish.”)
Swift and Gomez have been friends for over 17 years. In September, Swift attended Gomez’s wedding to Blanco. She later spoke about how moving it was to watch Gomez get married.
“I got to see her be the most elegant, gorgeous, not only bride, but just vision that I’ve ever seen in my life,” she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in October. “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful as her on her wedding day. And she deserves all this happiness. Benny is—he’s him. He’s so funny. He’s the best.”
She also confirmed she made a speech at the event. “So I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement,” she said. “Nobody wants you to be like, ‘Hey, I know this is your wedding day, but I’m [engaged]!’ You know, I was like, don’t mention it. Maybe turn it [the ring] around, you know what I mean? This is her day. I did do some light teasing about the way that we used to dress in 2008, the year that we met, because you know, we were teenagers and 2008 was quite a year, let me tell you. And so I talked a little about 2008, and I talked about how happy I am for her and just how beautiful it’s been to get to be a part of her life, but I did not make it about me.”
