Ogun 2027: Yayi urges supporters to halt premature campaign billboards

-Insists on due process,

-Says he is yet to declare governorship ambition

Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, has appealed to his supporters across Ogun State to refrain from erecting campaign billboards and posters promoting his alleged governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 elections.

The lawmaker, in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, and made available to Vanguard in Abeokuta, said his attention had been drawn to the proliferation of campaign materials in parts of the state by loyalists canvassing support for his possible candidacy.

While expressing appreciation for the show of support and confidence in his leadership capacity, Adeola cautioned that such actions were premature, stressing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had yet to release its timetable for primaries and campaigns.

He said, “I have been informed of the sighting of billboards and posters erected by supporters and groups in parts of the state soliciting support for my aspiration for Ogun 2027″.

The senator, however, clarified that he had not formally declared his intention to contest the governorship seat, noting that he remained committed to party processes and internal consultations.

“As a loyal party man, fully cognizant of the process and relevant traditions of the progressive family for over three decades, I am yet to declare my intention as I await the timetable of the party and ongoing consultations,” he stated.

Adeola urged his supporters to align with his longstanding political philosophy rooted in grassroots engagement, discipline, and strict adherence to due process.

“Supporters should act in tandem with my tested brand of grassroots politics, which is grounded in due process and respect for laid-down rules,” he added.

He further called on his followers to exercise restraint and patience, particularly regarding the timing of political campaigns and public displays of support.

“While I deeply appreciate the time, resources, and commitment of my supporters, I urge them to be guided by extant rules, especially as they relate to the appropriate timing for campaign activities such as billboards and posters,” he said.

The senator assured his supporters that their loyalty and sacrifices would not be taken for granted.

“I value your support and assure you that your commitment to this cause will always be appreciated,” he added.
