Three Steps to Your Dream Brows

We’ve lived through the reign of skinny brows with ultra-thin arches in the ‘90s and the sharply defined, over-filled look that trended in the 2010s. Now, we’ve landed somewhere in the middle, with a textured brow with a softer, defined outline being embraced. Experts are here for this moment; “When you work with the natural brow, as opposed to beating it into submission for a shape that wasn’t meant for you, it becomes easier to maintain,” says Deidra Green, VP of field performance at European Wax Center.

Step 1: Wax

Waxing can help you achieve your perfect, defined shape, whether you have sparse or naturally thick brows. At European Wax Center, all guests receive a consultation where you can discuss your brow goals with a licensed specialist to determine the shape and style that will best accentuate your natural features. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions and tell the wax specialist what you want to achieve, but also any fears or hesitations you might have,” says Green. “The more information we have about your preferences, the better we can customize your experience.”

Once a plan is in place, brows are cleansed, a light oil is applied to ensure the wax sticks to hair and not skin, then brows are trimmed and waxed with EWC’s proprietary Comfort Wax.

Step 2: Tint

To make your natural brows look fuller and more defined or to simply minimize time spent filling them in every day, tinting is an essential next step. The tinting process —which happens after your brows are expertly shaped with wax at EWC—typically takes less than three minutes and lasts up to three weeks. First, settle on a shade with your specialist. “Several colors are available for tinting so it helps if you have an idea if you prefer a bolder look or if you prefer a milder enhancement,” says Green. To complete the tint, the specialist will apply the color, add an activator to bring the shade to life, and then clean up any excess.

Step 3: Aftercare

Curate your post-brow routine based on your goals.
