Nigerian medical doctor, visual artist and Guinness World Record holder, Dr Foladavid, is set to bring together more than 1,000 children for a historic collective art project aimed at setting a Guinness World Records title for the largest fabric marbling painting.

Scheduled for November 11, 2026, at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, the initiative, tagged Colors of Possibility, will see children from public and private schools, vocational centres and the wider community join forces to create an artwork on an extraordinary scale.

With the full support of the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State Ministry of Education, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and the Federal Ministry of Education, the project seeks to promote creative education, inclusion and youth development through art.

The initiative will also accommodate children with additional needs, giving participants from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to express themselves, work together and contribute to a shared artistic vision.

Under Foladavid’s artistic direction, the children will engage in a coordinated fabric-marbling exercise, using colours and patterns to transform individual contributions into one collective masterpiece.

Beyond the record attempt, the project aims to inspire creativity, build confidence and teach valuable lessons in teamwork, patience and self-expression. Organisers say the experience will give the children an opportunity to discover their creative abilities while demonstrating the power of collaboration.

Adding a developmental dimension to the initiative, 78MFB, the event’s sponsor, is powering the project, which also features a ₦10 million Creative Fund dedicated to children. The fund is expected to reinforce the initiative’s commitment to nurturing young talent and expanding opportunities for children to explore their creative potential.

For Foladavid, whose previous Guinness World Record achievement drew international attention, the project represents a shift from individual accomplishment to collective achievement, placing children at the heart of an ambitious artistic undertaking.

The event is expected to bring together children, educators, parents, guardians, volunteers, partners and invited guests for a day of collaborative creativity, with the record attempt serving as the centrepiece of a broader message about inclusion, opportunity and the potential of young people.

If successful, the attempt would add a new milestone to Nigeria’s creative landscape while giving more than 1,000 children the opportunity to become part of an artwork that celebrates their imagination and shared achievement.

As the November 11 date approaches, Colors of Possibility aims to demonstrate that art can do more than produce a striking visual statement: it can bring children together, amplify their voices and turn individual ideas into a collective expression of possibility.
