  • A source detailed how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, are adjusting to their new life in the U.K.
  • The insider also shared what Meghan’s focus is this fall.
  • The update comes just days before Meghan and Harry are expected to appear at their first public event together since moving.

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle shared a sweet new video of her children, Archie and Lilibet, walking with their school backpacks. It was a warm, idyllic look at the family’s life following their move back to the U.K. last month.

Shortly after Meghan posted the clip, a source spoke to People in more detail about the children’s transition along with Meghan’s new focus this fall. “The kids have adjusted well, and that’s the most important thing to her,” the insider said.

The source noted that Archie and Lilibet’s comfort was Meghan and Prince Harry’s top priority these past few weeks. “After they first arrived in England, their focus was on establishing a routine and getting the kids settled into school,” the insider said. “Now they’re both excited to focus more on their work and the projects that matter to them. During the week, while the kids are in school, they’re working. They’re enjoying family weekends together.”

The update comes shortly before Meghan and Harry are expected to appear at their first public event together since their return to the U.K. The Times reported that the couple will visit Nottingham on Thursday, where they will “see projects at three charities that support young people and local communities through music, film, sport and tackling food poverty.”

A friend of the couple told the outlet, “Nottingham is a really special place for them, and they are looking forward to getting back out there into the community, together.”

Multiple friends said that Harry and Meghan are “happy and settled” with their kids in the Cotswolds, where they are renting a home. At the same time, the couple hasn’t decided on their long-term plans.

When their rep first announced their plans to return to the U.K., the spokesperson characterized it as short-term. “On the heels of a wonderful trip with family and friends this summer, Harry and Meghan have decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn,” the rep told The New York Times in August. “They are excited to have their children spend more time in the country that’s such an important part of their family’s story.”

As they get settled in the U.K., Meghan is keeping busy. The Times reported that the Duchess of Sussex is working on her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and is “planning to resume collaborating with some of her charities and patronages from her time as a working royal.” During that period, Meghan’s patronages included The Association of Commonwealth Universities, Smart Works, The National Theatre, and the Mayhew.
