Meghan Markle is spending time with familiar faces as she settles into life back in the U.K. On October 7, the Duchess of Sussex met up with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai at Claridge’s in London, marking one of her first public sightings in the capital since returning this summer.
The two women were first spotted sitting together inside the Mayfair hotel in a video shared on social media. A source familiar with the meeting told ABC News that Meghan and Yousafzai are friends and had gathered for tea.
Additional photos showed the pair outside Claridge’s, appearing to continue their conversation as they left the hotel.
For the outing, Meghan wore a white sweater and flowing white trousers with a camel-colored coat draped over her shoulders. She completed the look with pointed-toe flats and a black quilted handbag, while carrying a colorful patterned tote.
Her jewelry was another notable part of the ensemble. Meghan wore Logan Hollowell’s Lover’s Duet Diamond and Emerald Chain Necklace, priced at $21,150.
Yousafzai, meanwhile, wore a beige blazer over blue-and-white striped trousers, with a coordinating headscarf.
This wasn’t the first time Meghan and Yousafzai had met. In October 2020, the activist joined Meghan and Prince Harry for a virtual discussion in honor of International Day of the Girl.
The latest outing comes as Meghan and Harry continue adjusting to their return to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The family moved back in August after spending six years based in California.
