Flat-Top Sunglasses Are Fall’s Most Practical Runway Trend

Estimated read time1 min read

Yesterday, I went to the eye doctor, where I was dutifully admonished for not wearing sunglasses on a regular basis. “You wouldn’t leave the house without wearing SPF, why wouldn’t you do the same for your eyes?” she asked. So now I’m taking my sunglasses very seriously—doctor’s orders. And I’m looking to high fashion to inform my choices, as one does. As far as accessories go, the flat-top sunglasses trend ruled the fall/winter 2026 runways, so I’m shopping out the best ones here.

Michael Kors, Fendi, and Lanvin all participated in the trend. So, too, did Saint Laurent, albeit with a more aviator-like silhouette. Most every style was dark-shaded and chunky, often with rounded edges.

You might be thinking, But summer’s over; who cares about sunglasses? Well, my eye doctor would take umbrage at that, mon ami. The October sun is still a strong one, I’ll remind you. And don’t even get me started on the glare once snow comes into play. Indeed, sunglasses are equally important in the colder months. Meaning? This trend is only beginning to take off. If you want to get ahead of the curve, shop the best flat-top sunglasses below.
