On Friday evening, the human rights lawyer joined husband George Clooney at London’s Natural History Museum for the fifth annual Albie Awards, the ceremony hosted by their Clooney Foundation for Justice.
For the occasion, Amal wore a gold off-the-shoulder Gucci gown that gave the classic column silhouette a little extra movement. The gold sequins alone would have made a statement, but the long strands of fringe cascading from her hips to the floor gave the dress some added personality.
She accessorized with dangling gold earrings, metallic heels, and a small embellished clutch, wearing her brunette hair in loose waves. George, meanwhile, kept things classic in a black Gucci tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie.
Her choice of fringe comes at an interesting moment. On the spring/summer 2027 runways in New York, designers including Kallmeyer, Simkhai, TWP, and Monse incorporated the trend into their collections. As ELLE noted in its New York Fashion Week trend report, the detail appeared across everything from knit dresses to tops and accessories.

The Albies recognize journalists, advocates, and organizations working to defend human rights. This year’s honorees included photojournalist Lynsey Addario, girls’ rights advocate Vanessa Mwangala, and journalists Bolot Temirov and Makhabat Tazhibek Kyzy. Gucci was a sponsor of the event.
Amal has made the ceremony an occasion for memorable eveningwear in previous years. At the 2025 Albies, she chose a chocolate-brown Atelier Versace gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a long train.
This year’s gold look also follows another metallic moment she had earlier in 2026. In May, Amal attended the King’s Trust 50th anniversary celebration in London wearing an archival gold Alexander McQueen gown from the house’s fall 2007 collection.
