  • Meghan Markle posted a birthday tribute to Prince Harry featuring new photos of their children, Archie and Lilibet.
  • She shared the post two days after posting the first video documenting the family’s life in the U.K. since they temporarily moved back.
  • Hours before, their rep confirmed that the couple needed to change their children’s school due to security concerns.

Meghan Markle posted the first look at her family’s new chapter in the U.K. on Sunday, making it clear that they have been loving their new home despite chatter suggesting otherwise. She returned to Instagram this morning to celebrate another happy moment: her husband Harry’s 42nd birthday. The Duchess of Sussex posted a bunch of new photos featuring him and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

“He’s simply the best,” she wrote. “Happy birthday, my love ❤️”

Photos included Harry and Archie setting up a game, Harry and Lili walking and skiing together, and Harry dancing with Meghan.

The move comes hours after People and Hello! reported that Meghan and Harry had to change their children’s school just two days into the term. Their rep confirmed the news in a statement, saying, “The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements. The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care, and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”

The names of their children’s schools and the location of their home have been kept private to protect the family. Meghan and Harry have private security in the U.K.; they lost their taxpayer-funded police protection when they stepped back from their senior working royal family roles.

Yesterday, People reported that both the duke and duchess will receive a new security risk assessment from the Royal and VIP Executive Committee following their move back to the U.K. The move opens up the possibility of the couple having police protection restored.

On September 10, a source close to Meghan and Harry spoke to People about the couple’s priority as they settle into their new U.K. home.

They are focused on Archie and Lilibet, the insider said: “Everything else will fall into place when the time is right. There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it’s been really busy getting the kids settled. Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being. They are happy to be back.”
