Back to Office: Non-Boring Workwear for Your Fall Wardrobe

Estimated read time2 min read

Okay, we may have never fully left the office, but you have to admit September suggests back-to-work vibes now that sandy escapes and summer Fridays are behind us. A new season is coming, and if you need a little extra motivation, allow us to present some outfit inspiration for the longer workdays ahead.

Playing off my own excitement for cooler temperatures, I’ve curated several fall outfit ideas to spark some interest in your 9-to-5 wardrobe. Ahead, you’ll find everything from cinched blazers paired with flowy dresses and structured handbags, to tailored trousers teamed with suede Mary Janes and statement jewelry.

Consider this your excuse to get excited about dressing for work again.

A structured blazer will instantly make you look professional (it’s what they do). Wear it over a flowy dress for your workday, then simply remove it for that post-work function.

A pair of dark blue trousers feels like a fresh alternative to black, and they’re just as dressy. We love them with suede Mary Janes and statement pearl earrings for some extra personality.

The key to livening up work-approved silhouettes? Play with color and texture. This burgundy pencil skirt already has sleek buckle details—pair it with boots and it turns effortlessly chic with an edge.

Similar to a dress, a suit is a one-and-done. Team it with one of your favorite basics and a pair of Oxfords, and you’re immediately cast as a go-getter.

An office-ready wardrobe doesn’t feel complete without at least one pencil skirt. But if you’re looking to amp up the classic black style, try pairing it with a cap-sleeve tee and zebra-print mules.

Chocolaty, espresso, tobacco—whatever you want to call them, these hues continue to make a statement this fall. Wear them head-to-toe for a full-on monochrome effect that feels as sophisticated as it does professional.
