Wrexham have made an approach to sign former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to TalkSPORT. The 39-year-old is a free agent after leaving Cremonese and has attracted interest from several clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham United and Brazilian giants São Paulo. Vardy is not expected to make a decision on his future immediately, with the striker able to sign for a new club after the transfer deadline.

Manchester United striker Chido Obi is pushing to leave the club on loan, with Feyenoord among his potential suitors, the Daily Mirror has revealed. The 18-year-old could still complete a move after the Premier League deadline, with the Dutch and Danish transfer windows remaining open until Wednesday. United want Obi to join a club where he can play regularly and continue his development after making eight first-team appearances last term.

– Two Saudi Pro League clubs remain keen on signing Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey, as per The Athletic. Al Ittihad and Al Diriyah are both exploring the parameters of a future deal, as SPL sides have until Sept. 6 to register new players. Villa are keen to move Bailey on, who spent last season on loan at Roma, where he made only seven appearances in Serie A. His current contract expires in June 2027.

Liverpool made a late attempt to sign Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto on loan, Fabrice Hawkins reports. The Reds were only prepared to consider a loan without a mandatory option to make the move permanent at the end of the season – which the London club flatly refused. Liverpool were ultimately unable to finance a permanent deal for the 23-year-old.

– Chelsea made a late swoop for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott on Deadline Day, says the Daily Mirror. However, the Cherries had no intention of sanctioning his exit and are ruling out a move until January at the earliest.

– Everton failed in a late bid for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee on deadline day. The approach was made as Everton’s move for USMNT striker Balogun collapsed in the final hours of the window. Sources have told ESPN that the offer for Zirkzee was for a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent.

– Chelsea’s proposed €55 million deal for midfielder Lamine Camara collapsed after Monaco pulled out of the deal at the last minute. The Blues had a full agreement to sign the 22-year-old after having a €45 million offer rejected earlier on transfer deadline day. However, sources say Monaco reneged on the transfer after renegotiating Folarin Balogun’s move to Everton, which had appeared to be off earlier in the day. Read
