Taylor Swift Puts a Floral Twist on the Summer Slip Dress Trend for an Event in Los Angeles
THE RUNDOWN
- Taylor Swift attended a special Emmy voter event in Los Angeles this week.
- She wore her own twist on the popular slip dress trend with a look from Veronica Beard.
- Swift has been nominated for her roles as a producer and performer on her film The Eras Tour: The Final Show.
On Wednesday, Taylor Swift was seen in Los Angeles at a special event at Ross House wearing her take on this summer’s slip dress trend. The pop star was wearing Veronica Beard’s Kieran Floral slip dress, in a black and floral pattern with spaghetti straps and a scalloped hem. She wore the look with white-framed sunglasses and a pair of strappy white sandal heels. She left her hair down and accessorized with a short chain necklace.
The night honored director Glenn Weiss, who directed her film The Eras Tour: The Final Show. The night was attended by a small audience of special guests and Emmy voters. Both Weiss and sound designer John Ross received Emmy nominations for the Disney+ special. Swift was nominated as well as a producer and performer.
Per Deadline, after singing some songs from her discography, Swift addressed the crowd with some remarks on Weiss’s work.
“One of the things that I was so impressed by, and the needle Glenn threaded so effortlessly, is that the Eras Tour was such a phenomenon because of so many factors but one that I know that is really important is that it was a source of great escapism for the people who were there,” she shared.
Swift continued, “Glenn and I had conversations about ‘How do we preserve this experience?’ Because if you lose the feeling of relaxation and freedom for the fans there, then you’ve lost a huge element of what makes this concert experience so special. Glenn created a situation where the fans could be lost in the moment because of the rehearsals that he did with our dancers and me leading into the final show. If you liked the choreography that you saw of our dancers, you should have seen the footwork of our Steadicam operator.”
Altogether, the movie has received five Emmy nominations. Swift has won an Emmy before, in 2015, for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience.
