Katseye Performs Their New Song ‘That Way’ for the First Time
Last night, in Brooklyn, Spotify brought together Katseye’s top fans for a special evening. Called Klub Katseye, the event celebrated the group’s upcoming EP Wild, which arrives this Friday.
The group hit the stage to perform singles from the project, like “Pinky Up” and “Animal,” but they also gave fans a special treat by performing the previously unreleased track “That Way.” “I think it feels honestly amazing to have our top Spotify fans here in the room tonight,” member Daniela Avanzini tells ELLE. “We’re so excited to put on this performance and also perform ‘That Way’ for the very first time.”
Wild comes during an explosive year for the group, which was founded in 2024 and featured in Netflix’s reality series Popstar Academy. They began 2026 nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop/Duo Group Performance at the Grammy Awards. They have since performed at Coachella and other music festivals around the country and just released a new documentary, Katseye: Wild Hearts, today. Coming up, they’ll also appear at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields music festival later this month and are embarking on their Wildworld Tour in September. The year hasn’t gone by without a few bumps in the road, though, as members Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza have gone on hiatus.
Fans can expect more from Katseye on their new EP. The group’s personal favorites span just about every song on the project, with particular love for “Hootie Frutti” from Avanzini and Megan Skiendiel. “I think something that fans can expect from Wild is a lot more authenticity and a lot more raw emotion,” Skiendiel says. “I think with this EP, we had a lot more input, and we’re just really excited to bring that wild side out.”
The girls are master class performers too. Known for lighting up a stage, Katseye got their fans to cheer louder than ever at Elsewhere, the iconic Brooklyn club where Spotify’s event took place. It doesn’t happen without a little bit of preparation, however. “We warm up, sometimes we sleep, we come together and have a little moment,” Lara Raj says. “We all have our individual things we like to do.” But most importantly, she adds, “I think something that we all love to do is eat. We need to be prepared and have a lot of energy.”
As for their future dreams? Well, touring across the globe is one of them, but they hope that one day, they can expand even further. “I think our dream for Katseye is to go on a world tour,” Yoonchae Jeung shares. “We’d love to go to each other’s countries and hometowns.”
