On Sunday, it was reported by People that Ariana Grande was planning to take a break from the public eye after the end of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which concludes in London on September 1.
Her representative told the publication, “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.”
They continued, “She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
A source speaking with People added that Grande “performs a very physical show, and there is a lot of athleticism involved. She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night.”
Grande will also no longer be performing in the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, which she was set to debut in next summer with Jonathan Bailey. She and Bailey starred across from one another in Wicked and Wicked: For Good.
The source shared that Grande still “cannot wait to support the brilliant team bringing this project to life.”
In addition to her tour, the star released her album Petal on July 31, debuting a music video for the title track.
“This album is a fight song, an anthem about the love-hate relationship with the public and their toxicity,” the singer explained. “This album is not about any romantic partner or breakup in that way.”
