On Saturday, the royal family assembled for the Trooping the Colour, the public celebration of King Charles’s birthday and a huge event for the country. The Princess of Wales arrived for the big day in a horse-drawn carriage with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. They met with Prince William at the palace and their extended family.

Kate Middleton wore a baby blue Catherine Walker blazer dress, one of her favorite designers, paired with white pumps and a matching Philip Treacy hat. She also wore some special jewelry, including her Irish Guards brooch, Cassandra Goad earrings, and a three-strand pearl bracelet that originally belonged to the late Princess Diana.

And in a very sweet mother-daughter moment, Princess Charlotte wore her own version of the Nigel Milne-designed piece, showing a three-strand pearl bracelet on her wrist as she waved to the crowd. The young princess was dressed all in white with a few blue details to tie her outfit to Kate’s, as well as a white bow tie in her hair and white ballet flats.

The two boys wore navy blue suits with pale blue ties to match. The children joined William and Kate up on the balcony to observe the celebrations, including a flypast from the Royal Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, above them.

There is also a parade that features over 1,000 soldiers from the Household Division and King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and hundreds of musicians who perform as they pass by Buckingham Palace in London. King Charles’s actual birthday is in November, but the event is traditionally celebrated in June for the better weather.
